Project Lead : Tom Green
Branding and an Online Presence for a local Singer / Songwriter
Brief : Design a Website and Logo for Connah Evans – Singer Songwriter
Connah Evans is an up and coming local musician, who’s quickly building up a solid reputation. Connah was in need of a logo version of his name that he could use for printing wristbands, and on his artwork. He also needed a website to promote his gigs, merchandise and to link to his music on iTunes.
Tom met with Connah and took careful notes of his requirements and then assessed the site layout sketches Connah sent over. Tom then began work on exploring fonts and hand drawn lettering to find a suitable logo hand drawn style logo.
When he was satisfied with an initial logo concept he began work on the website layout.
Some mixed messages between Tom and his client ensued and it became apparent that Connah was not happy with the website as it was developing. After eventually meeting up to clarify exactly what Connah was looking for, we discovered he wanted it to look exactly like he site he’d given us a a reference. Tom then proceeded to amendments to make the site look more like the reference site and input the content he’d now received. The site then looked much closer to what Connah wanted.
This particular project was a great experience for the studio crew in understanding not all clients want you to put creativity into a project and while these clients may be less creatively inspiring to work with, they are none the less clients and need to be treated with the same respect as any other client.[/box]
