Today I did more work on the skeletons. I removed the particle effects on most of the skeletons (the rainbow aura did look a little bit silly on the normal skeletons). I did, however keep the particle effects on the wizard skeleton and on the big skeleton I added to the top floor. I added more skeletons in the great hall (with one positioned out of sight to one side to come up behind the player should they charge at the three skeletons on the other side of the room.) and I added a smaller ambush to the kitchen entrance.
I created a new idle animation for skeletons using a two handed sword and a new idle animation for skeletons using polearms.
