Silhouette Animation!
Stiwdio Frân Wen’s were approached by Digital Projection Artist Joel Cockrill of Blinc Digital Festival about producing some animations for use at the Gwyl Arall festival in Caernarfon.
Joel wanted an silhouette animation of a man climbing/falling out of a window and floating away like a piece of paper.
Michael developed a series of sketches and concepts before experimenting with an rigged character in Cheetah 3D.
He used manual key framing techniques to create a series of very effective animations that were rendered out with transparent backgrounds and imported into Motion to create the paper style movements.
Unfortunately the projection event didn’t happen, but Joel was really impressed with the animations and is keen for Michael to develop them for use in the Blinc Festival in Conwy in October!
